MERI needs to raise nearly $500,000 each year from 2009 through 2011. Because of the political nature of our work, very few corporate or institutional entities will contribute. Some 75% of our budget will come from individuals like you, with the majority of individual gifts coming from major donors of $1,000 and up. Your contribution is key to helping us achieve equality in 2011.

Thank you for your generosity. Unrestricted donations to our 501(c)(4) are most useful, and will help us support our most critical programs: lobbying, community organizing and electoral work. Because of the political nature of this work, contributions to the (c)(4) are NOT tax-deductible. However, if you can only give to a 501(c)(3) organization, MERI does have a charitable arm that funds our non-political general education and outreach initiatives.
