$15 = 250 more people for marriage equality at WaterFire
event details
Your help is needed this week with the largest community education and support gathering event we have ever undertaken: capturing support for marriage equality at this weekend’s WaterFire in Providence.
We will be talking directly to the public about the need for marriage equality in Rhode Island, answering questions and collecting postcards to deliver to state legislators. Over 35,000 people are expected to attend this weekend’s WaterFire, which is why Saturday night has the potential to be the biggest outreach and postcarding push in MERI’s history.
To do this, we need your help. A donation of $15 directly translates into paper and printing costs for approximately 250 sets of postcards: with each $15 raised, that’s 250 new people telling their Representative and Senator they support marriage equality. Even if you can’t afford $15 this week, please consider donating $10 or even $5. Every little bit helps. Can you imagine the impact of thousands of postcards in support of marriage equality delivered to the Rhode Island State House all at once? We need your help to make it happen.
Postcard Collection Volunteers Needed:
If you have availability on Saturday and would like to help, even for just an hour, please give us a call (401-941-2727) or email and find out how you can volunteer at our WaterFire event.
Thank you for your support!
