Become a Sponsor

As an individual or business, you can become a MERI Sponsor in a variety of ways. MERI supporters appreciate corporate underwriting and make an effort to patronize your business.

Support a Fundraising Event

When you underwrite a fundraising event as a corporate sponsor, you defray the cost of expenses so that more money goes into our bank account. In exchange, we will post an ad for you on our website providing visibility for your business. Prior to the event, your name will appear in our press releases to the media and in our email listserv notices to members, totaling over 4,000 individuals.

Underwrite a Particular Campaign

When circumstances dictate, MERI can suddenly find itself in the public eye regionally, statewide or nationally. Our meager budget unfortunately does not allow for an ongoing media outreach campaign. By stepping forward with your check to ensure the success of a rally, hearing or media campaign, you streamline the time it takes to develop an effective response that gets media attention.

Provide Basic Needs

The printer needs paper, the computer needs electricity and MERI must have an office. All these daily necessities require operating funds. By helping to defray these basic costs, it frees up funding for other purposes and allows MERI to instantly increase capacity.

Subsidize Goods & Services

It’s the extras that make a difference. Providing funds so that we can purchase buttons, stickers, t-shirts and other goods leverages the possibility of future income and creative marketing. Likewise, more serious endeavors like conducting ongoing polling, telephone canvassing and outreach such as town hall meetings are more successful when identified funds can bolster the effort.

Individuals

Individuals are also welcome supporters. Write a check from yourself or your family, or gather up a few friends to make a bigger impact. Individual supporters can remain anonymous or be mentioned in the same way as corporate sponsors. Take out an ad on our website to congratulate a recently married couple or honor someone who has made a difference in the marriage equality movement.
